Original title: Two Tokyo Olympic venues open at the end of the month, table tennis halls are temporarily closed to the public
On October 20th, Beijing time, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced the reopening dates of two other Tokyo venues in 2020. Sports federations and the public can use tennis and table tennis facilities in the next few months.
Ariake Tennis Park will be open to sports federations from October 25th to November 2nd, and personal use will be allowed from November 8th to February 28th.
Sports federations can use indoor courts and Ariake Stadium Center courts at the same time, while the public can only use indoor courts.
In order to maintain the stadium conditions for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, outdoor stadiums and performance venues will not be reopened. Ariake Tennis Park will host tennis and wheelchair tennis events for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium will host table tennis events at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This stadium will only be open to sports federations. From December 21st to March 31st, they will be able to use the main venue and the secondary venue.
The track and field field, indoor swimming pool and training room belonging to the building will not be reopened to the public to ensure the safety of the Tokyo Olympics.
The two venues are scheduled to reopen under new COVID-19 safeguards, and the epidemic has delayed the Tokyo Olympics until 2021. The Olympic Games are now scheduled to be held from July 23 to August 8 next year, and the Paralympics will be held from August 24 to September 5.
Other venues open for use due to the postponement of COVID-19 include swimming, hockey and badminton venues.
